SUREWA has concluded a round of community civic engagement meetings across the Suguta Valley, bringing residents together to set their own development agenda.
In open barazas, community members discussed water supply, restoration of grazing land and acacia cover, food security through the dry season, and keeping every child in school. The priorities agreed in these meetings guide SUREWA's advocacy with county government and its programme work for the year ahead.
Civic engagement is the method behind every SUREWA programme: the valley speaks for itself, and is heard.
